Clinton Manor has continued under the same ownership and management since it was purchased on January 1st, 1988 by Southern IL Living Center, Inc. We strive to provide the highest quality services and are always looking for opportunities to grow and improve. Clinton Manor has been involved in the Pioneer Movement for Culture Change which encourages individualized skilled nursing care and rehabilitation in a homelike environment since 2000.
We currently serve 37 residents with Intermediate and Skilled Care. We are Medicare and Medicaid approved. It is the policy of Clinton Manor to accept and render services without regard to race, color, or national origin.

Cheryl Smith has been a Registered Nurse for over twenty two years. She held the Director of Nursing position at Clinton Manor from 2000 until taking over as the Nursing Home Administrator in 2012. Cheryl’s hands-on leadership, compassion and dedication to quality care are key to Clinton Manor’s success and resident satisfaction. Before joining the team at Clinton Manor, Cheryl worked as a hospital nurse, Visiting Nurses Case Manager, and owner-operator of an adult day program for seniors. She is the recipient of our agency’s coveted Roger Richard Above and Beyond Award and our Wayne Messick Agency Mission Award.

Darla Loomis has been a Registered Nurse since 1993. She joined the Clinton Manor Team as the Assistant Director of Nursing 2000 and was promoted to Director of Nursing in 2012. Darla supervises all Medicare admissions and care planning. Darla is passionate about person centered care and implemented the first Person Directed Care Plans in Southern Illinois. As a result, she is the recipient of our agency Dream, Believe, Dare, Do Award for taking a creative vision or dream that fits our agency mission, believing in that vision, and daring to see the project through to the point of creating an outcome that has enhanced the lives of those we support.
Before coming to Clinton Manor Darla worked as a hospital nurse, Visiting Nursing Services Case Manager and owner-operator of a adult day care program for seniors.
Michael Brave earned his Master’s degree in Social Work from St. Louis University. He is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator and has been Vice President and CEO of Southern Illinois Living Centers, Inc. since 1988. Michael’s passion for continuous improvement and focus on connecting with others sets the tone for Clinton Manor’s person-centered practices and policies.
Before his leadership positions at SILC, Michael served as Director of Operations for a not-for-profit organization and was responsible for opening seven small homes for people with developmental disabilities in Southern and Central Illinois from November 1985 until December 1987. Prior to that, he worked as a Nurse Aide, Cook, Dishwasher, Housekeeper, Maintenance Helper, Activity and Social Services Director at Clinton Manor from 1973 – 1983.
Michael is a member of the leadership committee for the Southwestern Illinois Pioneer Coalition on Culture Change and continues to be actively involved in creating positive, person directed changes at Clinton Manor Living Center for those who choose to call it their home.
